You wouldn’t have to commit for two years and wait for re-contract reductions on your new handset if you used one of these low-cost SIM-only data plans. Simply take the money you saved on your SIM-only plan and spend it on a new phone on Lazada. In this blog, we tell you about affordable SIM only plans in Singapore.

Affordable SIM Only Plans in Singapore

Circles Life SIM-only options (starting at $5 per month)

At $5 per month, Circles Life provides the absolute cheapest SIM-only package on the market. Here are your choices:

  • Circles Life $5 Plan includes 2GB of data and 50 minutes of talk time. 25 SMS messages and free caller ID
  • Circles Life $10 Plan includes 5GB of data, 100 minutes of talk time, and 25 SMS messages
  • Smart Start Plan ($18/month if you port in, $28 otherwise) includes 20GB of data, 100 minutes of talk time, and 25 SMSes.

The major disadvantage is a $38 one-time SIM card registration price. If you sign up for a Smart Start plan, you can usually use a promo code to get this price erased.

SIM-only plans from Zero 1 (starting at $9.90/month)

The gimmick of Zero 1 is that all of their plans provide “unlimited” data. According to reports, you get 4G speeds on the first GBs you pay for. Following that, your data will be at “controlled” speed. However, you are not required to top up for additional data.

6GB data, 200 minutes of talktime, and 200 SMSes are included with the 6u Plan ($9.90/month promo, U.P. $13.90).
The 50u Plan ($17.90/month offer, regular price $19.90) includes 50GB of data, 500 minutes of talktime, and 500 SMSes.
Please keep in mind that there is a one-time registration cost of $10.70 for Zero 1.

Starhub Giga SIM-only plans (starting at $10 per month)

Starhub’s entry into the virtual telecom industry is Giga, and it offers two options to pick from:

  • $10 a month gets you 6GB of data, 500 minutes of voice time, and 500 SMS messages.
  • $25 a month gets you 60GB of data, 2,000 minutes of talktime, and 2,000 SMSes.

The $25/month Giga plan is on the pricey side, but it comes with a tonne of data and talktime. So, if you’re a light phone user, the $10/month plan should be enough. All Giga plans carry over unused data to the following month, so you can theoretically get more data than you paid for.

SIM-only options from MyRepublic (starting at $10/month)

MyRepublic has updated its products to make them more competitive, particularly with its current (indefinite?) flash sale. The plans are as follows:

  • Lite ($10/month) includes 6GB of data, 300 minutes of talktime, and 300 SMS messages.
  • Core (now $17/month; usually $20) for 50GB of data, 500 minutes of talktime, and 500 SMS messages.
  • Pro (now $20 per month; normally $29) for 70GB of data, 1,000 minutes of talktime, and 1,000 SMSes.
  • Unlimited data, 1,000 minutes of talktime, and 1,000 SMSes for $39 per month.

Although the Lite plan is the lowest, we prefer the equally cost Megaplan because it includes rollover data. The Core plan is the best of the bunch, costing just $17 for 50GB – ideal if your phone isn’t TPG-compatible.

SIM-only Singtel GOMO plan ($20/month)

Stressed by the likes of Circles Life, Singtel’s sub-brand GOMO aims to reclaim the hearts and minds of disgruntled Singaporean millennials. It now has two major plans:

  • 20GB ($20/month) includes 200 minutes of talktime and 200 SMSes.
  • 60GB ($30/month) includes 500 minutes of talktime and 500 SMSes. With the GOMO coupon code ROLL60, you may get 100GB of data, 1,000 minutes, and 1,000 SMS.

Although it’s $20 for 20GB package was formerly the market leader, it is currently being challenged by TPG, MyRepublic, and Grid Mobile. Having said that, it’s still a reasonable price for the security of a Singtel device. The GOMO app makes it simple to manage your plan.
