by Priyadarshini 8 November 2021Finding the correct delivery or courier company can be difficult, whether you’re a seasoned Carouseller or a new e-commerce venture. While we no longer have to rely on SingPost to ship our packages, the problem now is that there are so many logistics businesses. Which one should you pick!? Is it dependable or not? In this blog, we talk about affordable courier services in Singapore.
Do you need some recommendations right away?
Buy postage-paid options like SingPost’s PolyM, SmartPac, or Ninja Pack for tiny deliveries. They’re quite convenient; simply stuff, seal and drop off. Qxpress next-day delivery boasts the most affordable pricing in town for heavy/bulky items. GrabExpress is perhaps the cheapest and easiest to utilize for rapid delivery. Choose the 4-hour delivery option to save even more money.
You can’t go wrong with Lalamove or GetVan for van or lorry delivery.
Affordable Courier Services in Singapore
PolyM & SingPost SmartPac (small parcels)
Singapore is extremely efficient! SingPost is the old standby, and they still have some of the most affordable prices for small parcels up to 2kg (324 x 229 x 65mm). However, rather than standing in line at the post office and messing with stamps, many prefer to use their postage-paid poly mailer (PolyM, no tracking) or padded envelope/box (SmartPac, with tracking) for ease. It takes 2 to 3 business days for delivery.
Ninja Packs from NinjaVan (small parcels)
Ninja Packs are postage-paid poly mailers of various sizes with no weight limit, unlike SingPost. You can cram whatever you want into the bag, making it ideal for little but heavy goods like books. Then you deliver it to a Ninja Point and there you go! Item has been dispatched. Delivery takes between one and three days and is trackable.
The only annoyance is that you must buy them in packs of five online, so multiply the fees above by five, plus add $1.90 postage for orders under $50. Individual packs can only be purchased offline at specific places.
Qxpress Shipping (bulky parcels)
If you can get beyond Qoo10’s odd user interface, its in-house delivery service Qxpress isn’t a bad option for shipments weighing up to 30kg and measuring W+H+L = 160cm. Technically, they accept up to 300cm, however, there is an undisclosed extra. The usual Qxpress Delivery service is the next day, and you cannot choose a time frame.
On the bright side, it’s quite inexpensive for larger products that wouldn’t fit in a Ninja Pack or SmartPac. Qxpress, for example, charges only $12.90 to transport a 20kg cargo, compared to the market rate of $20. If you’re willing to invest extra money, there’s also Qxpress Quick Delivery (3 hours) for $5.99/km. This is only applicable for extremely short distances.
UParcel (bulky parcels)
UParcel’s key selling point is that they have a plethora of delivery options, including 1 hour, 3 hours, same day, next day, timeframe, and 2-way delivery. The UParcel’s next-day shipping is more expensive than Qxpress, but it allows you to send up to W+H+L = 200cm, which is larger than Qxpress and TaQbin.
GrabExpress (instant delivery)
GrabExpress is an on-demand delivery service that works similarly to hiring a Grab. You can choose between 4 hours and quick delivery (goods delivered in 60 minutes). 4-hour delivery is quite inexpensive – you simply pay a fixed rate based on distance. This is only available for small parcels weighing up to 5kg and measuring 32cm x 25cm x 12cm; it cannot be used for food.
Charges for same-day delivery are taxi-style: Begin with a base fare, followed by a distance-based fee. When compared to the competitors below, GrabExpress starts with a very inexpensive base rate, but the per-kilometer surcharges are considerable. As a result, it is best suited for short-distance deliveries. So, these are the affordable courier services in Singapore that you can use to get your shipment delivered.
