The Peak
For Peak’s residents are mostly rewarded by spectacular views, a leafy and peaceful outlook, and dozens of hiking trails. The Peak Galleria shopping complex is often crowded with tourists but has coffee shops, restaurants, and a supermarket Victoria Peak Gardens, near the summit of the Peak, is a tropical oasis. The peak is one of the best places to live in Hong Kong. The Peak Tram is the most exciting way up, but buses to Central are frequent and quick.
Tai Hang
If you take just a short walk from Causeway Bay, you will find yourself at Tai Hang. It has a slower-paced and laid-back vibe. With plenty of vintage stores, artisanal coffee shops, indie stores, and craft beer bars, the neighborhood has a unique charm.
The three-day Mid-Autumn Festival Fire Dragon Dance is held here, but ancient culture and traditions happily rub shoulders with new boutique residential developments often renovated from old buildings. There are brand new developments too, and old luxury houses.
Sai Ying Pun
Most new expats who move to Hong Kong prefer Sai Ying Pun and it is the current favourite. You will find cheaper accommodation and the local food here is definitely a big plus. A popular choice is the wide variety of local cuisines and themed restaurants, and some original, funky bars. Nestled between Kennedy Town and Sheung Wan, it’s easy to get to Central and the Western Harbour Tunnel and the open space of Sun Yat Sen Park.
Sheung Wan
This district will display a truckload of character. However, it’s tricky finding anything more than a studio or one-bedroom apartment. Sheung Wang guarantees an authentic Chinese living experience with old Hong Kong-style buildings.
A short walk from the bustling Queen’s Road and all of Central’s convenience commute is excellent. Also, Sheung Wan has an MTR station. So, you got nothing to worry about!
