Sentosa Island

This island is so close to the mainland and you can walk across the footbridge (for free or $1 depending on the time of day). Or just ride the Sentosa Express, which links to the MRT. Also, there are many beach bars where you can enjoy with your family, play beach volleyball or football or take part in various beach activities.

Pulau Ubin

Take a small boat from the Changi Point Ferry Terminal (about $2 one-way) and you reach the island of Pulau Ubin. Walk or bike through the wetlands, have a picnic on the beach, and go birdwatching. Apart from Sentosa, the most popular day-trip location that is not on Singapore’s main island is Pulau Ubin. This small sliver of land is situated between Singapore and Malaysia, and it is most known for its wetlands, which serve as a perfect playground for adventure lovers. St. John’s Island

There are a couple of good beaches popular with swimmers, and you have good changing rooms, bathrooms, picnic areas, and stores. You can even rent a bungalow for a night on the island and make the most of the serene beauty. St. John’s is also known for its lagoons, which are separated from the sea by spits of sand around the island’s perimeter.

Bintan Island

This island is, particularly for rest and relaxation. Escape the hectic city life and stay at one of the many resorts here. You can rent a car and drive about the island enjoying seaside views. Take a walk or relax on the beach. Also, you can go elephant watching, and temple hopping depending on what attracts you. This Indonesian island is part of the Riau Archipelago. And it is the second nearest to Singapore. Bintan is a developed island located less than an hour by ferry from Singapore. Famous for its great lineup of white sand beaches and variety of water-sport activities, this place is a must-visit! Day or weekend visitors can also visit the famed Banyan Tree Temple.

Lazarus Island

Come here, to soak in some sand, sun, and sea. Take a dip in the ocean and energize yourself. Lazarus Island boasts the most beautiful beach in Singapore. However many visitors to the more developed St John’s Islands skip the short trip over the bridge to check it out. For those who do, there isn’t much here, but a long stretch of unspoiled white sand. Neatly bordered by palms with a tropical jungle in the background makes your visit worthwhile.
