The UOB One Card is UOB’s favourite entry-level credit card, especially for those who also have a UOB One account. The credit card’s fame stemmed from its (former) key proposition: a maximum 5% cash rebate on everything, eliminating the need to juggle different spending categories. In this blog, we tell you about the UOB One Card Singapore.

Summary of the UOB One Card Singapore

The UOB One Card bills itself as the “most generous cashback card in Singapore.” Indeed, the UOB One Card, UOB’s flagship entry-level credit card, is famous for offering up to 5% cash back on almost everything you swipe the card on. Those were the good old days; nowadays, the figure is 3.33%. Even so, it offers the highest cashback rate when compared to other similar rewards cards. Most everyday expenses are eligible for the card’s eligible retail spend. You can even get extra cashback for grocery shopping, Grab transactions, and filling up your car with gas at Shell.

Furthermore, if you have a UOB One Account, the two go hand in hand. Spending at least $500 per month on your UOB One Card qualifies you not only for additional cashback but also for a higher interest rate of 0.25% p.a. on your UOB One Account.

Annual Fee, Minimum Income for UOB One Card

The UOB One card is an entry-level card that is available to the majority of working adults. Here is a summary of the UOB One Card’s terms and conditions that you should be aware of before signing up.

The UOB One Card

  • Annual fee – $192.60 annual fee plus waiver (waived for 1 year)
  • The first supp card is free; subsequent cards cost $96.30.
  • Interest-free period – 21-day
  • Annual Interest Rate – 25.90%
  • Late payment penalty  – $100
  • The minimum monthly repayment is 3% or $50, whichever is greater.

Minimum Spend on UOB One Card Singapore

How does the UOB One Card function? You will receive 3.33% cashback on all retail purchases as well as additional cashback on transactions with select merchants. To earn $50, $100, or $200 at the end of the quarter, you must consistently spend at least $500, $1,000, or $2,000 for each month of the quarter. There is also a monthly transaction requirement of at least 5 transactions.

Instead, you should be careful to spend exactly $2,000 (or $1,000, or $500) every month in that quarter, or all of your efforts will be for naught. The 5 transactions must also take place within your statement month, so if you swipe your 5th transaction too close to the end, it may not be counted (the retailer may not have posted it yet).

In that regard, the UOB One Card’s rebate system is both generous and harsh. The UOB One Card, on the other hand, is Singapore’s only cashback card, offering cash rebates on almost everything. Consider consolidating your daily expenses such as groceries, gasoline, utilities, and recurring bills.
